Now that the "Sleeping Beauty" edition of Enchanted Conversation is up and people are actually reading it -- lots of people! -- I thought I'd address some issues and offer some ideas.1) If you click on the banner, you should always be able to go to the home or main page, which is currently the Vol. 1, Issue 1 Table of Contents. In addition, no matter where you are, you should be able to click on the upper left image of the tree and the forest creatures, which is called "Forest Dreamer" by artist Bridgetbeth. That should take you right back to the table of contents.
2) Why are the contributors separate from their articles? We followed what we are used to seeing in many magazines we read -- a contributors' page.
3) Why no teenagers? This is a tough one. It's tough because teens are the world's most voracious and dedicated and interesting readers. We mean that. However, there is one big obstacle to allowing under-18 writers take part in Enchanted Conversation: You are not legally able to take part in contracts.
We are a non-profit organization, run entirely by non-paid volunteers -- and resolving the issues involved with hiring teen writers will take time. We are so sorry (and we really are), but opening this up to teens is not going to happen in the short term. We will revisit this issue in the near future.
4) If you like EC, then comment on it, tell friends, bring in new readers, take part in contests, write something. We work on a shoestring, we are pressed for time. Knowing that people care about Enchanted Conversation makes it all worthwhile.
But most of all, we have work by incredibly talented writers, poets and artists. That's why we want you to keep visiting!
