Hi Enchanted Conversationalists!During this first year of "publishing," we people at EC have been learning a lot about layout, time challenges and deadlines. I have to admit, when the schedule was originally laid out, I had serious doubts about this second issue. This is the very worst part of the year for college teachers. Everyone is tired, many of us (students and teachers) have been sick or soon will be, and the work never seems to stop.
All of this is my way of saying we will need to make our publication date a little later than April 2. We are hopeful for April 11.
We've also been learning about what works in terms of templates, banners, and simple choices based on what what we love. Turns out that the banner I wanted, no matter how brilliant the one we paid for was (and we still love it), is the image by fairy painter John Anster Fitzgerald that we now have.
We've also realized that four times a year is a mighty ambitious publishing plan when we run everything on a teeny budget and all editors are strictly volunteer. In 2011, EC will be published twice a year -- with contests resulting with mini editions during the rest of the year.
Please stick with us. Princesses and less glamorous folks like us need a few chances to get to a happy ever after. Or at least, a reasonable publishing schedule.
